We would like to remind you that the President of Ukraine, in accordance with the current legislation, establishes presidential awards and awards them.
In addition, according to the Constitution of Ukraine, the President of Ukraine awards state awards, establishes presidential awards and awards them; at the same time, state awards are established exclusively by the laws of Ukraine.
And finally, on March 16, 2000, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law "On State Awards of Ukraine". Practically all awards of the President of Ukraine in effect at the time of the adoption of the law became separate state awards without the status of Presidential awards. The law also recommended the President of Ukraine to bring his decrees into line with this law.
Importantly. After the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation troops on the territory of Independent Ukraine, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi issued a Decree establishing the honorary award "For Courage and Courage".
